Daily Swim and Activities

ABOUT CAMP

The Friendly House Gym & Swim Program offers 175 camper slots for children 6-12 years old. We also offer a Counselor In Training (CIT) program for teens 13-16 years old.  The summer program is available for 9 week session, five days a week (Monday through Friday), 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. (see list for extended morning) Rain or Shine.

The Gym & Swim program is a Traveling Camp. Four days a week the children participate in a rotating schedule which entails going to different state parks and a variety of museums and educational day trips. The fifth day the program remains at Friendly House at which time the children will participate in indoor/outdoor group activities. Some of our trip include but are not limited to:

  • Hopkinton State Park
  • Douglas State Park
  • Salisbury State Park
  • Roller skating
  • Bowling
  • Museums
  • Much More!

The summer camp curriculum is designed to engage the participants in a variety of activities which will enhance their social and emotional growth while preventing any summer learning lost.  The daily activities that are provided include a wide range of physical, recreational and educational activities including:

  • Arts-n-Crafts
  • Enrichment
  • Swimming
  • Summer Reading (according to the Worcester Public School List)
  • Cooking
  • Talent Shows
  • Physical Fitness
  • Special Events & Field trips

The children are provided with field trips and transportation to specific places with minimum cost or no cost to participants.

The child/staff ratio is 2 staff to 15 children and 2 CIT’s.
